A truly unique experience that starts from the Grave where the progress of the special visit is explained, “educating” the participants to live the adventure like true explorers and above all to better develop all the senses available.
We proceed in the dark into the Caverna della Lupa, in which we can admire the gray droplets of water (illuminated with LEDs we can see countless of them) with a silvery colour, and then we reach the Cavernone dei Monumenti, in which all the lights are turned off to exploit only the acetylene one of the guides in an attempt to convey the effect enjoyed by the first explorers.
At this point there is a deviation from the tourist route to venture inside the Cave of coral concretions which is a small branch of great beauty. Once back on the tourist route in the Owl Cave, the flora and fauna of the caves are explained by researching the forms of animal life (much more easily visible with this method of visit) and explaining their evolution.
In this cave the group is divided in two and we proceed along two parallel corridors that will lead to the same cave (the cave of the precipice): we try to give a feeling of real exploration.
Having reached the beginning of the Desert Corridor there is a very emotional moment: all the visitors travel 500 m of corridor in total solitude to seek a real “contact” with the cave, a real “intimacy” with mother earth. And once the group has reunited, we proceed to the Cavern of the Tower of Pisa, enhancing the change in colors and that of the speleothems.
You arrive in the Cave of the Dome where all the lights will be turned off (including the acetylene ones of the guides) to give absolute darkness which will enhance the sense of hearing and the perception of the many drops of dripping falling to the ground from the ceiling. The sounds are as sweet as they are surprising. Once in the White Cave, you will move from darkness to the intensity of pure white enhanced by the artificial lights of the caves. We stop a few more minutes to explain the wonderful concretions and to provide some more detailed information on speleogenesis and the geology of the underground environments.
The return to the Grave will be carried out with the artificial lights of the electrical system of the caves which will give the opportunity to admire the “macroscopic”, the majesty of the caves after having admired the magic and variety of the “microscopic” on the route in the dark (the lamps fronts enhance the beauties and treasures hidden in the small niches that will appear like treasure chests).
Once back in the Grave, you take the lift up to go to the Museum where the helmets will be delivered. Visitors also fill out a satisfaction questionnaire with which statistical data is collected.
